These truck mounted mills are common in rice growing areas in the Philippines. Instead of the farmer or rice dealer bringing “paddy rice” to a mill, the mill comes to the farmer. In this video the paddy rice is poured in by the young man on top of the truck. Below you can see the three products of milling; white rice on the right, rice hulls in the middle and rice bran on the left. If the hulls were removed but not the bran, you’d have brown rice. Unfortunately, rice bran in naturally high in arsenic.
